Other news and projectsI know it's been a while since I last posted anything up here. This DA's turned into where I put up more finished works and, like I said, it's been a while. School's been really chewing up a lot of my free time, especially since it's my last semester before I graduate. Even so, I've started a long (and most likely slowish) project seen here. Feel free to follow or just tag along my personal tumblr where I post all of my loose sketches and ideas. I'm probably more approachable over there as well.
I hope you're all doing well and see you later!

A ComplicationFor those who've been following me on tumblr, I've been practicing anatomy and how to properly construct the body but I've been finding myself losing interest in drawing in a way. I find myself disliking a lot of the things I do and end up scrapping them most of the time. I don't know how to fix this sort of predicament and I wonder if any of you have felt this way.
Do you have any potential solutions or ways I can motivate myself to like my pictures again? It's a difficult question, yeah but I don't feel I can give the art up completely.
Commissions for you and me!Hey there everyone! I'm here open for commissions! AND SO ARE A BUNCH OF MY FRIENDS. (If you have commissions open, just drop me a line and I'll put you up here too!)
Pins are also being sold here! Check out the list here and place orders to me!

1. Getting Started
First of all, you probably want people who come to your page to actually stay on your page and browse your gallery. So it's best to let them know a bit about you and present yourself as an active user. You can easily do this by uploading an avatar, setting up user page, editing your Devious Info, etc.
To find out more, watch the following awesome video
or read the following Frequently Asked Questions:
Now when you start uploading your art, you might be just a little overwhelmed by the amount of galleries and subgalleries. Just to give you an idea, the photography gallery alone consists of 16 subgalleries and another 64 subcategories! So it

One Cat, One Fruit, One Clock Semi-FinalistsWho knew so many creative and unique pieces of artwork could be created using a cat, a fruit, and a clock? Well, we did! Which is exactly why we asked you and harnessed the power of the deviantART community! Some artists mashed up the photos into a stunning photo manipulations, some created paintings and illustrations using the photos as references, and some even created posters for fake movies and products!
In some entries it was obvious which stock photos were used, but it in others, it was almost like a scavenger hunt. You may have to download the full size images to spot them all!
The judges have looked through the entries and selected 25 semi-finalists. From these semi-finalists, three winners will be chosen by the world-wide Chairman of Fotolia, Inc., Oleg Tscheltzoff.
Please note: If during the finalist judging any one of the semi-finalists becomes ineligible or is disqualified under the Official Rules, the semi-finalist judges will replace the disqualified entry with a new
deviantART, we have a problem. (part 1)About a month ago, I posted two polls: What is most important to you? and What is the main reason you use the groups platform?
With the help of several deviants and groups, I gathered almost 4,000 votes. The high number of participants gave me a close look into the priorities of the deviantART community one that I would like to share.
Without further ado, here is what I discovered by asking, "What is most important to you?
The majority of deviants about 60% prefer comments over s or page views. There are two main reasons for this:It means that another artist took the time to look at their artwork in detail, andit gives them the opportunity to develop their skills by learning what worked and what didn't.They weren't talking about just any comments. Almost all of the deviants who commented on the polls said they preferred
The Bolt AwardThis year marks the introduction of something new. An award, or more accurately a recognition of achievement that goes above and beyond the normal call of duty.
This will be given out a mere once per year, every August 7th on the Birthday of the site.
What are the criteria for this award?
For contributions to the site that have had a massive impact on it and have caused things to change that affect every single one of us whether we know it or not.
Why then is it called "The Bolt"?
This is in honor of its first recipient, someone who goes very unnoticed and quietly has kept the backbone of this beast firmly in place during all sorts of hell and high water.
This individual would be none other than the coding tour de force known as $Chris Bolt who has been writing code for us since before day one.
